Pixellator: Mrs. Pix – Soft Knit Shorts

This is a quick snap from a summer trip to the mall. I love this look – for obvious reasons – but she likes it too. The shorts are comfortable, but she knows that she is “street legal” and doesn’t have to maintain anything (unlike those short skirts that require constant maintenance). For the most part, this look is “passable” without attracting too much attention.

Funny you should ask. I had more text in the preamble about both your points, but it got long, so I deleted it.

On attracting attention: Sure the look draws attention. But there's attention and ATTENTION. This look is not so in-your-face that people are knocked off center and have to react. It's ignorable; people can notice without betraying that notice with awkwardness. And that day, wandering through various shops and interacting with numerous shopkeepers, no one reacted as if taking any notice at all. That's not always the case.

On following: It happens once in a while that we pick up an admirer. When that happens, it can be a short train to Creepy Town. Fortunately, Mrs. Pix rarely notices (I'm keeping an eye out, so I do). On this day, we did happen to attract a follower. We crossed paths about 50yds ahead of where this photo was taken, and the guy trailed us for quite a while at a fair, non-creepy distance. That's not always the case.
